The African Mask necklace is a stunning 3D necklace created as my interpretation of the traditional african masks that play an important role in certain traditional African rituals and ceremonies.
Masks serve an important role in rituals or ceremonies with varied purposes like ensuring a good harvest, addressing tribal needs in times of peace or war, or conveying spiritual presence in initiation rituals or burial ceremonies.
Some masks represent the spirits of deceased ancestors, others symbolize totem animals, creatures important to a certain family or group. In some cultures, like the kuba culture of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, masks represent specific figures in tribal mythology, like a king or a rival to the ruler.
The wearer of the mask is often believed to be able to communicate to the being symbolized by it, or to be possessed by who or what the mask represents.
Cultural Interpretation and Respect
The African Mask Necklace is my artistic interpretation, inspired during a sculpting session accompanied by African music. While I deeply respect African heritage, this piece reflects my personal vision, not a deep understanding of the cultural significance of traditional masks. My intent is never to misappropriate or offend, but to share creative expression. I welcome open, respectful dialogue regarding this representation.
Spiritual intention-
As a spiritual jewelry creator, I place intention for every jewelry piece I send to the world.
The intention is to focus on the how rather than the what of your growth. It’s about deciding those aspects of your life that you can control. Usually, this means being deliberate about how you want to relate to your experiences — regardless of what the current experience is like.
I usually meditate in the final stages of the creation and would love to place an intention in the ring, I think of it as my way of spreading love to the world, and I'm sure whoever gets it will use it wisely.

The pendant measurements-

The necklace comes in silver or 18k gold plated brass. I can also create it in 14k Yellow, Rose or White Gold; please contact me for more info.
The chain is leather at the length of ~60cm with a closing clasp. The chain length can be shorter or longer if needed; please contact me for changes.
It is recommended not to shower or enter the pool/sea with the necklace; the metal can oxidize and change color.
Production time would be 7-14 business days, 14-21 for special requests.
The African Mask Necklace
Gold plated brass jewelry requires special care to maintain its appearance and prevent tarnishing. Here are some care instructions to follow:

Clean regularly: To keep your jewelry looking its best, clean it regularly with a soft cloth or jewelry cleaning solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as they can damage the gold plating.

Store properly: Store your gold plated brass jewelry in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight. You can also use a jewelry box or pouch to prevent scratches and tarnishing.

Handle with care: Be gentle when handling your jewelry, and avoid pulling or tugging on it. This can cause the gold plating to wear off or become damaged.

Cleaning Your Silver Jewelry
Silver polishing cloths are quite inexpensive and last a long time. The cloth is appropriate for cleaning and polishing silver jewelry that is mild to moderately dirty.
Soiled silver jewelry looks dull and tarnishes over time.
Rubbing the jewelry gently with the silver polishing cloth allows you to clean it without scratching the metal.
If your silver jewelry is heavily soiled or tarnished, you can use aluminum foil and to rid it of the dark spots.
Simply place a square of aluminum foil in the bottom of a heavy bowl.
